Abstract

Habitually de Middle Period (ca. 600-1000 A.D.) in the Northwest Argentina (NOA) has been characterized according to the presence of Aguada societies, these shared a series of elements of common denomination regarding their symbolic repertoires. Studies have sought to highlight those common elements present in the different areas of occupation. In the last decades, has been proposed that, despite Aguada had a regional emergence, different processes were objectified in a particular way in each place, according to the history and relationship of each territory. From the foregoing, the aim of this work can be deduced, which consist of being able to reflect on notions of body and person, and then apply them to the study of figurines from different regions of the NOA. We start with the theories of the Archaeology of Personhood, as well as certain works focused on the study of the body. Among the preliminary results we can see that the person has ways of being alternative to individualism, and that the body is not necessarily constrained to its biological limits.
