Abstract

The question of the relationship between humans and non-humans has become a fundamental part of anthropological reflection throughout the last decades and has led to reconsider, within the framework of the so-called "ontological turn", many of the traditional classification categories of the discipline. In this paper I am interested in pointing out its incidence in the anthropology of the Andes, presenting studies that follow this line of interest, reviewing the categories of local cosmologies, and that enter into dialogue with the theories and models that emerged from the reflection on ontologies. My aim is to show some of the ways in which humanity and the relationship of humans and non-humans in the Andes are being (re)thought, from a framework that covers mainly the Central Andes region, as well as to offer a reflection on the current state of Andean anthropology and the possibilities that the present moment offers for future development.
