This paper exposes the commercial exchange between the indigenous communities of the Puna Atacameña (San Pedro, Toconao, Talabre, Socaire and Peine) and the aborigines of north-western Argentina (Catua, Susques, San Juan de Quillaques, Huancar, San Antonio de los Cobres, Matancillas, Pocitos, Tolar Grande, Antofallita, Antofalla and Antofagasta de la Sierra) through barter, products, routes and family ties to the second half of the twentieth century, built from an ethnographic approach to this border area.
