First of all the rock engravings are placed in the landscape, and is mentioned the major archaeological sites in the valley, being Hualfín Inka the most important archaeological site for Inca times. Using the ancient rock art motifs found in Northwest Argentina and northern Chile and their associated interpretations, the engravings are located chronologically during the Regional Development period and probably during Inca occupation.
