Prof. Bohm traces the migratory flow of Jews into Chile from the time of the Spanish conquest. The author then takes sorne particular cases insofar as they permit an appreciation of social characteristics through different historical periods and which significantly contributed to the making of the national mind. His historial observations are supported by a synoptic view of a number of persons of Jewish descent who have held important positions and fulfilled diverse functions in this southernmost country.

Director y profesor del Centro de Estudios de Cultura Judaica de
la Facultad de Filosofía, Humanidades y Educación de la Universidad de
Chile, y Director, asimismo, de su revista JUDAICA IBEROAMERICANA. Miembro
de la Historical Society of Israel. El énfasis de sus investigaciones
está puesto en el arte y el desarrollo histórico de los judíos en América.
Entre sus publicaciones se cuentan Nuevos antecedentes para una historia de los judíos en Chile colonial y Los judíos en la obra de Rembrandt.
