Authors

Abstract

This research focuses on the wardrobe of women in the indigenous community of Socaire, located in the Atacama region. The clothing worn in both daily life and festivities is examined to understand its symbolic meaning, as well as the imaginaries and stereotypes passed down through generations. The study collects family photographic archives and utilizes ethnography as a valuable tool to explore and understand the cultural experiences and expressions of women in relation to garment construction, fabric use, and clothing repairs.
