Professor Moreno provides for usan example of oriental mythography through an account of the adventures of Adapa. His contribution leads us into a cultural
milieu which is characterized by a great richness in the field of popular beliefs,
which find artistic elaboration in narratives possessing great epic force, all of
which con tributes toan in crease of our humanistic vision of the history of society.

Jaime Moreno, Universidad de Chile
Profesor del Centro de Estudios de Cultura Judaica de la Facultad de Filosofía, Humanidades y Educación de la Universidad de Chile. Es presidente del Centro de Estudios Culturales Oriente-Occidente. Se ha dedicado fundamentalmente a la Historia y a la Literatura del Medio Oriente Antiguo. Entre sus obras figuran: Interpretar la biblia y La religión mesopotámica.
